LogMyData Device Support - Wired

Control Solutions offers a number of wired devices that support remote monitoring via LogMyData.com. These devices connect using a standard Internet connection.

What advantage is there to a central server when these devices already have an embedded server?

There are at least two big advantages to the central server approach.

(1) You only need to log into one web site to view a status summary of all your devices on a single page. You also have one central location to manage your notification lists.

(2) If a device fails to report in, the central server will detect this loss of connection and alert you to the fact that something may be wrong at that site.

Your Internet connection requires nothing special

The remote monitoring devices from Control Solutions access the remote server using standard HTTP Get requests. This means they look no different to your router than a PC looking for Google. You do not need to worry about opening ports or exposing your network to added risk.

LogMyData Device Support - Wireless

Control Solutions' i.Report uses GSM/GPRS cellular technology to provide a wireless connection to the Internet and the LogMyData web portal.

The i.Report is programmed to monitor key data points, and make a "phone call" to the server any time data falls outside of user programmed limits. The server will record the data, and then send out notifications to selected users via email or text message.

The i.Report can also be programmed to periodically report data points simply for historical data collection. This data can be downloaded from the server in CSV format for processing with any standard spread sheet software.
